Fire Hooks Kelly Tool
Fire Hooks Unlimited
The evolution of forcible entry tools developed by the FDNY has a long and storied history. The Kelly Tool was a revised version of the original FDNY forcible Entry tool known as the "Claw Tool". The "Kelly Tool" is named after Captain John F. Kelly of Ladder Company 163. The Kelly Tool was an improvement over the Claw Tool as it removed the curved end at the striking end of the original "Claw Tool".
The Kelly Tool is basically a Halligan Bar with the pike removed. The Striking surface on the adz end has a flattened striking surface making it easier to hit and safer for the firefighter holding the tool.
The Kelly Tool is 30" in length, weighs 9.5 lbs. and is fitted with a Celtex grip.
